GARRIOCH: The Ottawa Senators have made plenty of changes in a busy off-season

One of the most significant moves by the Senators involved the acquisition and re-signing of goaltender Matt Murray, a two-time Stanley Cup winner with the Penguins.

The time has come to turn the page and start a new chapter for the Ottawa Senators.

And owner Eugene Melnyk can’t wait for the season to get under way.

Of course, nobody is sure when that’s going to happen, but not only will the Senators have the new retro uniform they unveiled last month, but they’ll also have a wealth of different faces.

When the 2020-21 Senators do hit the ice, whether it’s at Canadian Tire Centre or in a hub city like Toronto or Vancouver, they will look vastly different than they did when the National Hockey League went on pause because of the threat of the novel coronavirus on March 11.

Many of the names on the back of the jerseys and the faces have changed.
