GARRIOCH: Passing time in quarantine, Ryan Dzingel is happy to have a second chance as a Senator

Forward Ryan Dzingel will spend 14 days in quarantine in an Ottawa-area hotel before he can rejoin the Senators.

Ryan Dzingel is just killing time.

After being reacquired by the Ottawa Senators from the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday in exchange for forwards Cedric Paquette and Alex Galchenyuk (subsequently dealt to Toronto), the speedy 28-year-old winger is trying to stay ready while serving his 14-day quarantine in Kanata.

Dzingel isn’t sure when he’ll make his return to action in the second-chance stint he’s been given by Senators general manager Pierre Dorion, but it won’t be before March 1, so until then he’s passing time at a hotel with his wife, Elise, trying to stay ready.
