Jets 3, Senators 2
The Ottawa Senators came up short Wednesday night.
And, to make matters worse, it was a third-period short-handed goal by the Winnipeg Jets that turned out to be the winner in Ottawa’s 3-2 loss to wrap up this two-game series at the Canadian Tire Centre.
With Thomas Chabot caught flat-footed on the power play, Trevor Lewis gave the Jets a two-goal lead by beating Matt Murray at 9:39 of the third. Mathieu Perreault and Mark Scheifele also scored for the Jets on the 35 shots Murray faced.
